Idk, 'dropper' seemed like a title filled with portents and omens for a second.
Actually, 'dropper', or more properly 'droppering', refers to a process by which one removes the guts of a fountain pen, adds some mode of sealing to the barrel threads, and just fill the bare barrel with ink, replacing the pen body snuggly against the o-ring (as it happens, I had an o-ring of the correct size, so I did not resort to any sort of silicone grease mess).
Its the means by which you get enough ink in the pen to get beyond 'hello', or a couple of days lying on the desk from neglect/lack of need.
I like my fountain pens; I only have one right now, and thats fine. I just hacked it (it's an Ahab Noodler, BTW), and if it turns out I fucked it up, well, there are a lot of very functional, capable fountain pens around that are, not to put too fine a point on it (see what I did there?) CHEAP.
The Ahab cost me between 20 and 30 dollars, as I recall, back in 2021. The plunger on the refillable cartridge doesn't/didn't care much for my choice of 'ink' (I prefer Mrs. Stewarts Liquid Laundry Whitener). It writes a lovely semi-dark prussian blue, with the charming quality that, over time, it fades in darkness, and then becomes once again more saturated when exposed to light for a short period of time (an afternoon typically does the trick).
It doesn't really fade away, it just gets very unsaturated; there is something about that quality that speaks to me, as does the color prussian blue.
ANYWAY
Good morning. I am glad to say that, so far, there is nothing in the news that wasn't there yesterday, so that means Trump is experiencing a net loss. Thats two days in a row, keep it up, Universe.
All I've got to say right now is that I in NO WAY WHATSOEVER support anything this creep does or encourages his lackeys to do.
Thats about it for the initial post. Again, I want to wish you all a good morning. On my immediate agenda: hang the solar panels in the closet. They need to be labeled, as the 400 watt ones are not interchangeable with the 100 watters.
After that, maybe some art or gaming. It's a null day as far as obligations are concerned, so I am good to cultivate my own humanity. I kinda want to do some work in the yard, but a winter storm is coming, and I don't want to get too involved with outside right now.
KEEP BREATHING. It is another thing that distinguishes us from machines.
And remember, no matter how smart your phone gets, it is not your friend.
